Vijay Eswaran is a businessman from Malaysia and the Chairman of the QI Group. He attended the London School of Economics where he graduated with a socio-economic degree. He returned to the UK to earn a qualification from CIMA after working in a few odd jobs around Europe. He proceeded to the Southern Illinois University where he got an MBA. He started his career at Synaptics in the US where he worked as a multi-level marketer. Eswaran decided to venture on his own when he co-founded the QI Group in 1998. The company is made up of several companies that operate in various industries including travel, luxury products, corporate investments, and telecommunications. The enterprise has expanded its operations to other countries such as Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong. QNET is one of the many firms that make up the QI Group. It is considered to be the most successful venture.

Eswaran is an accomplished author. He has written several books namely In the Sphere of Silence, In the Thinking Zone, Two Minutes from the Abyss, and 18 Stepping Stones. These books contain his life experiences, thoughts, and his personal management philosophy. Eswaran was also influential in the development of an interactive program known as Thought of the Day.

Eswaran has been heavily involved in philanthropic causes over the course of his career. He established the RYTHM Foundation and the Vijayaratnam Foundation. The former is the philanthropic arm of the QI Group whereas the latter is a charitable organization that is headed by his wife. The two organizations are committed to improving the community through mentorship and financial support.

Eswaran has won various accolades including the New Global Indian award for philanthropy and the Lifetime Achievement Award in Global Entrepreneurship. Eswaran is regularly invited to speak at conferences and events about his leadership methods and business excellence. He was asked to speak on mindfulness at the World Economic Forum that was held in Davos last year.
