Annual Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon

James Dondero who is the co-founder and president of Highland Capital Management, L.P., recently announced that the company had offered a $1 million challenge grant in aid of The Family Place. The Family Place is a Dallas-based organization that supports victims of family violence. The announcement came during the Annual Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon held at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas, Texas.

The grant is administered through the Highland Dallas Foundation, Inc., which is a philanthropic branch of Highland Capital Management and matched 50% of the funds raised from the campaign up to $ 1 million by April 2017. Learn more about James Dandero: https://www.nexbank.com/james-dondero.htm

The Family Place Legacy Campaign aids the construction of a new Counseling Center at Central Dallas to help family violence victims and the building named “Ann Moody Place.” The center includes a medical and dental clinic, 13 emergency shelter bedrooms, a centralized hotline/call center, multipurpose spaces for job training, multiple counseling rooms for individuals and groups, and counseling rooms for adults and children.

James Dondero is a Co-Founder and President of Highland Capital Management. He co-founded the company alongside Mark Okada in 1993 to be among the largest and most experienced alternative credit management companies globally. Mr. Dondero graduated from the University of Virginia with top honors in Commerce and dual majors in Finance and Accounting.

Between 1985 and 1989, he was the Corporate Bond Analyst and later Portfolio Manager, at American Express.
